Biography: If you were to look at Flint's life as a spectator, it would appear to have played out unfairly smoothly. Being popular amongst his peers throughout grade school (as a gay man no less), excelling on both the basketball and football teams, and landing a promising position as a Pro basketball player at a relatively young age? Some people are just born for greatness.
Except Flint's life never felt great. His school years bore him popularity, yes, but the whole time, he was experiencing inner turmoil as he learned about himself through a series of failed relationships. The social expectations were suffocating as he went through a crisis of sexuality, one he had to navigate completely alone. His own parents were distant at best, and his sisters never seemed interested in him much either. As for his initial starting position on the Oasis Springs basketball team, well, he had to abandon that after his boyfriend at the time completely broke him down emotionally.
If there's one thing to be said for this hardship, though, it's that Flint never lost hope completely, and it eventually led him to the wonderful life he has now. He moved to Mt. Komorebi to connect with his heritage, accepting a position as a personal trainer there. His now-husband, Bryce, has never left him to wallow. On days when it feels impossible to get out of bed, Bryce will encourage Flint, and he'll always make sure their home is a place they feel proud to live in. They have four beautiful children, and Flint has a close relationship with each and every one, determined not to be the absent parent he grew up with.Life Stages: elder

One night while out drinking with some friends, Flint met Jameson. He was older, but settled. Perhaps that stability and experience is what drew Flint to him, or maybe Jameson was just that charming. Either way, it didn't take long for a relationship to form. Having come to terms with his sexuality by this point, Flint looked forward to having an easy, well-fitting lover. Unfortunately, his preconceptions about gay romance came from inexperience, and Jameson soon inadvertently taught him that being gay did not exempt him from toxicity.

Biography: Pepper was born with her engine revved. Even without the encouragement from her father, she had big plans and a desire to do well in everything. She was able to join scouts and attend lessons for many skills, which her parents were happy to fund. However, though her life was made comfortable by the luxuries her father's salary afforded their family, it also drew the ire of her peers.
She succeeded frequently in her endeavors- straight A's, high ranking scout, class president for every year she campaigned... It garnered the respect of the adults around her, and the awe of most other teens. But there were always those who discredited her successes as being "bought," never allowing her to revel in her hard work. This, combined with her constant inability to remain faithful to any romantic partner, caused her to lose any meaningful friends.
Well, fine. She didn't need them. She didn't need anyone. As soon as she graduated, Pepper moved away from home, wanting none of her distraught parents' support. Pepper got an apartment in San Myshuno and ran her own mayoral campaign from the ground up. During this time, she decided to settle down with Tre, whom she'd initially seen as a fling. They got engaged after Pepper learned she was pregnant. However, the pressure of running her political campaign, as well as the confusion and frustration of finding herself attracted to other people, finally brought her to a boiling point. Pepper left him at the altar, and resolved to raise their daughter, Stella, on her own.
Of course, by "raise their daughter," that meant hire a nanny so she could continue focusing on her campaign. Eventually, election time was nearing, and Pepper had a promising lead. The only issue that was consistently brought up by her team was the fact that she was viewed as a promiscuous single mother. They encouraged her to settle down with a partner, even if it was a front. While pondering this suggestion at a high-class nightclub, she met Star, who would eventually teach her about polyamory and help Pepper navigate her feelings of multi-attraction. The two began having their own little fling at this time.
Not long after, Pepper met Lex Caliente. He was of a relatively high social standing due to his family name, and he seemed interested in her. She accepted when he asked if they could date. When she told Star, she had no issues with this; all she asked was that Pepper be upfront with Lex. Though it was a difficult conversation, it was eventually decided that they could all have an open relationship. Pepper, Lex, and Star set their boundaries, and their relationship was a strong one that lasted the rest of their lives.
Publicly, of course, Pepper was only married to Lex. This gave her campaign the boost it needed, allowing her to become mayor of San Myshuno. Finally, after years of leaving Stella in the care of nannies and her parents, Pepper became aware of how she's neglected her family. Although she still focused on her mayoral duties, she also began to reconnect with her parents and siblings. Pepper attempted to be more of a present mother to Stella, a teen by this point, but they were never able to fully repair their relationship beyond simple pleasantries. Biography: As a child, Stella was lonely. The friendliest face in her life was that of her grandfather, Julep, who would visit any time he got the chance with maps of the stars and blueprints and pictures of microscopic organisms. He told her tales of the planet Sixam, and of the child he'd sent there long ago. As Stella looked at her own life and the mother who didn't seem interested in her presence at all, she couldn't help but to feel a sad bond with this lost child. The older she grew, Stella became numb to the loneliness, preferring it vastly as opposed to the snobbish company her mother would host.
When Julep died and Pepper attempted to insert herself into the hole that filled Stella's life, she shut down completely. She was only a teen when Pepper reluctantly allowed Stella to move into Julep and Angela's old house in Willow Creek. The only stipulation was that she needed to find a roommate to help pay for expenses. This was easier said than done, but eventually Peter Vang moved into the spare room. The two kept to themselves for a long while, but eventually a power outage led to some forced conversation, and Stella found she didn't hate Peter's company.
Peter and Stella started dating, partially out of convenience, partially out of fondness, and eventually eloped (Pepper was furious they refused to have a wedding, but Stella had long since tuned out her complaints). All the while, Stella continued her journey as an astronaut, determined to get to Sixam and find Julep's lost child. She and Peter had children of their own, not opposed to their presence-- as far as Stella was concerned, the children's basic needs were being fulfilled by her and Peter, not passed off to some other person. That made them better parents than Pepper ever was.
At last, Stella's ambitions were fulfilled. She got to Sixam. She found her aunt, Rika, who was an elder at this point. Rika had no family left on Sixam, and Stella still felt that kinship with the alien, even after all these years. So Rika came back to live with the Berries. Finally done with her aspiration, Stella still didn't feel fulfilled, so she began assisting her children with schoolwork, encouraging academic success and eagerly passing on her knowledge of STEM fields. Unfortunately, Flint showed no interest in these activities, so Stella was at a loss how to connect with him. She eventually decided that he had enough friends and support at school, he'd do fine independently. Even when he left their home without a word, Stella hardly noticed, simply accepting that Flint would forge his own path in life.Life Stages: elder
