The Plotaker family was founded by Angel, an orphan with amnesia, who moved to Newcrest as part of a government program to develop a new community in a post-apocalyptic world. He started a family and created a community park. Now, his eldest daughter, Beth, is taking up the mantle with a goal to raise a big, happy family and develop an entire neighborhood of family homes.

Biography: Angel was an orphan with amnesia. He doesn't remember his real name, but he picked up the nickname Angel from a kind old lady that took him in. He moved to Newcrest as part of a government program to develop a new community after all of the world's cities and towns suffered disasters that made them uninhabitable. "Plotaker" is an aptronym created by a government bureaucrat who needed a last name to complete the forms by combining "plot" and "taker". Angel's dream is to start a family and create a sense of community he never had.

Biography: One evening, Bea's father was abducted by aliens and after returning home had a strange sensation in his stomach. The size of his stomach grew for several days until it became obvious that he had miraculously gotten pregnant. When it was time to give birth, Bea emerged an odd purple color.
When Bea became a toddler and was able to disguise herself, her parents breathed a sigh of relief that Bea's "odd skin condition" resolved itself. As a teenager, Bea became obsessed with the existence of vampires and decided to study them extensively. After Bea's adopted mother died of old age, Bea experienced human death for the first time and thought the Grim Reaper had specifically targeted Penny, so Bea started an argument with him. Bea's mission is to stop the illusive Grim Reaper.

She had a knack for matchmaking, succeeding in pairing her younger twin (Bonnie Plotaker) with her future husband (Iggy Pancakes), while also pairing her older sister (Beth) with a boyfriend.
Betsy herself eventually got engaged to her crush after she succeesfully won Dorothy's love. Previously, Dorothy had a mutual crush on Betsy's older sister, Beth - a messy situation that turned out the best for Betsy. Unfortunately, Betsy and Dorothy never married as Betsy died as a young adult from laughing herself to death after another successful matchmaking.
